Cabinet Secretary Teddy monitors return flow, ensures safe and smooth progress
Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya conducted monitoring during the peak Eid return flow on 24-25 March 2026 to ensure everything proceeded safely, smoothly, and comfortably through synergy among ministries and agencies.
According to a statement received in Jakarta on Wednesday, Seskab Teddy Indra Wijaya, together with Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi, carried out a direct inspection of the 2026 Eid return flow peak at Pulo Gebang Integrated Terminal, Cakung, Jakarta, in the early hours of Wednesday.
“Last night at 1 a.m., I was invited by the Transport Minister to check the return flow peak at Pulo Gebang Terminal. Alhamdulillah, after asking directly to the returnees on the buses, they said the journey was smooth and comfortable. Of course, we also greeted them, shook hands, took a few photos to make the returnees happy,” said Seskab Teddy as quoted from the official upload of the Cabinet Secretariat.
The smoothness of the return flow peak on 24-25 March, he explained, is in line with the hopes of the President and all of us.
For this year’s Eid, the government has continuously strived to ensure that the mudik and return flow arrangements run better than the previous year, which also went very well.
These efforts are supported by strong synergy from various parties in managing the high mobility of the public during the Eid period.
“Of course, this is supported by strong synergy between the Ministry of Transportation, the Police, local governments, and all related agencies in managing the high mobility of the public,” he explained.
Not only that, the government has prepared several anticipatory steps to face the potential second wave of the return flow expected on 28-29 March.
These steps include the implementation of traffic engineering such as situational one-way roads, rest area arrangements, restrictions on goods transport vehicles, as well as several policies for toll discounts and thousands of free mudik buses that can be utilised by the public.
These steps affirm the presence of the state in ensuring that public travel proceeds safely and comfortably until they reach their destination.
Through careful planning, solid coordination, and quick responses on the ground, the government is committed to keeping the 2026 Eid return flow momentum under control and providing peace of mind for the public returning to their activities.
