Cabinet Secretary Teddy Meets Indian Ambassador to Discuss PM Modi's Visit Plan

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya received a visit from Indian Ambassador to Indonesia Shri Sandeep Chakravorty to discuss the development of cooperation and plans for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Indonesia in mid-2026. According to an official post from the Cabinet Secretariat quoted on Tuesday, Seskab Teddy Indra Wijaya received Ambassador Shri Sandeep Chakravorty at the Cabinet Secretariat office today. During the meeting, Ambassador Sandeep specifically requested time to convey several matters regarding the development of Indonesia-India cooperation. He highlighted that the country, with a population of over 1.4 billion people, has more than 150,000 diaspora members residing in Indonesia. The ambassador then conveyed the plan for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Indonesia, scheduled for mid-2026. The visit is expected to become an important milestone that strengthens the partnership between Indonesia and India, which has been established for 76 years. The visit is also expected to open opportunities for closer cooperation in various fields between Indonesia and India. Prime Minister Modi’s planned visit to Indonesia will be a reciprocal visit following President Prabowo Subianto’s state visit to India in January 2025. Previously, President Prabowo Subianto conducted a state visit to India from 23 to 25 January 2025, where he attended as the chief guest at the 76th Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi.
