Cabinet Secretary Teddy Inspects Holiday Travel Flow at Senen Station, Greets Travellers and Checks People's Train
JAKARTA – Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya conducted an inspection of holiday travel conditions at Pasar Senen Station in Central Jakarta on Tuesday, 17 March 2026.
According to Kompas.com’s observation at the location, Teddy arrived at approximately 15:05 Western Indonesian Time by car. Upon exiting the vehicle, Teddy immediately proceeded to the Pasar Senen Station concourse.
PT KAI (Persero) Chief Executive Officer Boby Rasyidin, who had been waiting, greeted him upon arrival.
“Hello ma’am, where are you heading?” Teddy asked, prompting enthusiastic responses from passengers.
Several travellers immediately requested photographs and handshakes. Teddy also greeted children present at the station.
“May I take a photo with you, sir?” asked a young girl.
The Cabinet Secretary obliged, posing for photographs with the child and two others.
Thereafter, he proceeded with Boby to the People’s Economy Train units positioned on Platform 1 at Senen Station. Boby explained that the People’s Economy Train fares are below those of commercial economy trains.
He subsequently invited Teddy to board the carriages to inspect conditions and greet passengers. Residents who had not anticipated meeting the Cabinet Secretary responded with smiles and spontaneously requested photographs.
“I didn’t expect this. What did I dream about last night?” one woman remarked.
Teddy then moved to other carriages to greet additional passengers.
Previously, PT KAI officially launched the People’s Economy Train service on 1 March 2026. The train service operates on the Pasar Senen-Lempuyangan route with train code KA 7040 and is being utilised as transport capacity for the 2026 Eid holiday season.
“This People’s Economy Train represents KAI’s commitment to providing safe, comfortable, and affordable public transport for all segments of society,” explained KAI Public Relations Manager for Jakarta Regional Operations (Daop 1), Franoto Wibowo.
