Cabinet Secretary Teddy Inspects Construction of Decent Housing near Senen Railway Tracks, Featuring Children's Play Facilities
Jakarta - Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya inspected the progress of constructing decent housing for residents who have long lived along the railway tracks in the Pasar Senen Station area, Central Jakarta, on Saturday (25/4/2026).
During the inspection, Teddy was accompanied by PT KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin.

“This morning, Saturday, 25 April 2026, I, together with the President Director of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (PT KAI), Mr Bobby Rasyidin, checked again the progress of the housing construction for the residents’ living quarters on the edges of the tracks around Pasar Senen Station,” said Teddy, on the official Instagram account @sekretariat.kabinet, on Saturday.
According to him, the houses being built are also located around 500 metres from the Pasar Senen railway tracks.
“With housing facilities, bathrooms, clean water, places of worship, and children’s play areas and other facilities,” he said.
He assured that the housing construction will be carried out quickly with coordination from the Ministry of Housing and several related SOEs.
Teddy stated that the government will also carry out gradual resettlement arrangements to other locations.
Previously reported, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto made an impromptu visit to the residents’ settlement along the railway tracks in the Senen area, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (27/3/2026).
During the visit, Prabowo was seen walking along the narrow alleys on the edges of the tracks, greeting residents, and occasionally stopping to chat.
In front of the residents, Prabowo assured that the government will soon build decent housing for the residents in the area.
“Hearing the aspirations of the community there, Insya Allah, we will soon build decent housing for the community in that area quickly,” said Prabowo.
