Cabinet Secretary Teddy Highlights 'Expert Inflation', Alludes to Parties Speaking Without Factual Basis

Jakarta - Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that there is a phenomenon of a large number of experts emerging who frequently present data that does not align with facts. “Currently, there is one phenomenon. What is it? There is something called expert inflation. So there are many experts,” said Cabinet Secretary Teddy when met at the Presidential Palace Press Room in Jakarta on Friday (10/4/2026). “And these experts’ data does not match the facts, their data is incorrect,” he added. Teddy explained that these experts speak on topics not aligned with their expertise. “There are rice experts but their background is not in that field, there are military experts, there are foreign affairs experts,” said Teddy. Teddy further noted that if observed, most of these experts have long existed to influence society. “But what are the facts? The facts are that more than 96 million citizens trust Pak Prabowo more, they do not trust them. That is concrete evidence of public trust, not just an assumption,” Teddy clarified. Furthermore, Teddy emphasised that the government is not against criticism. As a democratic nation, differences in views and opinions are normal. However, such statements should not lead to anxiety.
