Cabinet Secretary Teddy Discusses Vape Abuse with BNN Chief
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya received the Head of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), Commissioner General Suyudi Ario Seto, at the Cabinet Secretariat office in Jakarta on Saturday, 20 June 2026. During the meeting, Suyudi coordinated various efforts related to the prevention and eradication of narcotics abuse and illicit trafficking. “Coordinating various efforts to prevent and eradicate the increasingly sophisticated abuse and illicit trafficking of narcotics, especially in major urban areas across Indonesia,” said Seskab Teddy, as quoted from the @sekretariat.kabinet Instagram account on Saturday. In the meeting, Suyudi also presented BNN’s various achievements in narcotics prevention and eradication. “Including the successful uncovering of illicit narcotics networks and the seizure of various types of narcotics before they could circulate in the community,” he explained. Seskab Teddy stated that BNN’s current focus is on the dangers of electronic cigarette or vape abuse. He noted that vapes are now frequently used as a medium for consuming hazardous substances. “The abuse of electronic cigarettes or vapes, which can be used as a medium for consuming dangerous substances, and the importance of educating the public, especially the younger generation,” he revealed. Seskab Teddy explained that the government continues to strengthen cross-institutional synergy in efforts to prevent and eradicate narcotics, while also enhancing public education to protect the younger generation and realise a drug-free Indonesia.
