Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya has bulk-purchased 35 sacrificial cattle from farmers in Boyolali, Central Java. Farmers expressed enthusiasm and stated they were aided by the purchase.

One farmer, Aditya, said he initially received information that Cabinet Secretary Teddy was looking to buy cattle. To his surprise, all of his cattle were purchased.

“I happened to hear that the Cabinet Secretary needed cattle, so all my cattle were bought,” Aditya said in a statement received on Wednesday, 27 May 2026.

The purchase piqued his neighbours’ interest, who then entrusted their cattle to Aditya to offer for sale.

“My neighbours were curious why my cattle were all bought, so they entrusted theirs to me, hoping I could offer them too,” he added.

As a result, Teddy also bought the cattle of Aditya’s fellow villagers. Aditya expressed gratitude as their cattle met the required criteria.

“Turns out they met the criteria too. Alhamdulillah, everything went smoothly,” he added.

Another farmer, Juned, was moved that his cattle were also purchased. Juned said such local cattle purchasing programmes greatly assist small village communities.

“As local farmers and small-scale producers, we are greatly helped by initiatives like this,” Juned said.

Agus Irawan, a farmer from Senden village in Boyolali, echoed similar sentiments. Agus said he was proud his cattle met the required criteria.

“I am overjoyed and grateful to Allah. As a farmer and villager often deemed unworthy, my cattle met the criteria,” Agus said.

Agus added the purchase had a significant impact on village farmers. “It greatly assists cattle farmers in Senden village, Boyolali,” he said.

The cattle purchased by Teddy weighed an average of one ton each, with various breeds including Simmental and Limousin. They will be distributed to several locations in the region.
