Cabinet Secretary Teddy and Social Minister discuss People's School to social assistance accuracy
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya received a visit from Social Minister (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf to discuss the progress of the People’s School programme and the synchronisation of social assistance (bansos) distribution at the Cabinet Secretariat Office, Jakarta, on Monday (6/4). Quoting the official Instagram account of the Cabinet Secretariat in Jakarta on Tuesday, the meeting focused on strengthening the quality of education through the People’s School and ensuring that social assistance distribution is on target based on the National Single Socio-Economic Data (DTSEN). The Social Minister, familiarly known as Gus Ipul, reported developments in the implementation of the People’s School, which continue to show positive trends, particularly in terms of student achievement at national and international levels. One of the achievements reported was the success of Rina Ayu Mei Sarah as the Best Participant I of the 6th Young Scientist Training Camp FGP Indonesia. The student is a representative from the People’s Upper Secondary School 18 Blora. Another achievement was attained by Juli, a student from People’s Upper Secondary School 12 Bogor, who reached the final of the ASEAN-level Geography Olympiad (GEOSAC) at the Indonesia University of Education (UPI). Meanwhile, regarding social welfare aspects, both parties discussed efforts to optimise social assistance distribution to make it increasingly accurate, guided by DTSEN. The government, through cross-ministerial coordination, is committed to ensuring that social protection programmes run effectively. Strengthening the national integrated data base is key for the government to reach the community in need precisely and measurably.
