Cabinet Secretary Reveals Outcomes of Meeting Between Prabowo and King of Jordan, Discussing Regional Peace Initiatives and Palestine
AMMAN, KOMPAS.com - Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya revealed the outcomes of the meeting between President Prabowo Subianto and King Abdullah II of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan at the Basman Palace in Amman on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.
The meeting addressed several strategic regional issues, particularly regarding efforts to promote peace in Gaza and strengthen coordination among countries in the Middle East.
“This follows up on the first Board of Peace (BoP) meeting with Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and other West Bank countries that are members of the BoP,” said Cabinet Secretary Teddy in Amman on Wednesday.
Teddy stated that Jordan is considered to have a strategic position in supporting humanitarian access and regional diplomacy.
“Strengthen Indonesia-Jordan cooperation in addressing peace in Gaza. Jordan is one of the land, sea, and air access points,” he added.
In addition, the two leaders also discussed long-term solutions to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
“The discussion focused on the two-state solution,” he said.
As a conclusion to the series of meetings, King Abdullah II personally escorted President Prabowo to the airport and even drove the vehicle carrying them.
This moment is seen as a strong symbol of the close personal and diplomatic relationship between Indonesia and Jordan amid their shared commitment to promoting regional peace.
