Jakarta (ANTARA) - Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya received BTN CEO Nixon Napitupulu and KAI CEO Bobby Rasyidin at the Cabinet Secretariat Office in Jakarta on Wednesday afternoon to discuss the provision of decent housing for the public, particularly in urban areas.

“This meeting discussed the follow-up to President Prabowo’s directives on providing decent housing for the public, especially in urban areas,” according to a post on the Cabinet Secretariat’s Instagram account (@sekretariat.kabinet) on Wednesday.

BTN, together with KAI and the Ministry of Housing and Human Settlements, is committed to building vertical housing, one of which is in the Manggarai area, Jakarta.

The project has begun construction of 5,000 rental units with sizes of 45 and 54 square metres.

The housing is designed to be affordable through the Home Ownership Credit (KPR) scheme and the Housing Finance Liquidity Facility (FLPP).

The meeting also conveyed BTN’s housing construction achievements in 2025, namely around 200,000 units through KPR/FLPP and 40,000 non-KPR units.

“And in 2026, in line with the President’s directives, the number will be increased,” the post stated.

In addition to housing issues, the meeting discussed the progress of the Gambir Station redesign and improvements in rail service quality for passengers and logistics in various regions of Indonesia.

The development of transit-oriented development (TOD)-based areas was also part of the discussion as an effort to encourage the formation of new integrated economic nodes.
