Cabinet Secretary: Presidents Prabowo and PM Anwar discuss geopolitics for three hours
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the meeting between President Prabowo Subianto and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim lasted three hours as part of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H greetings while discussing geopolitical dynamics and global strategic issues.
“The meeting lasted around 3 hours from 16.00 to 19.00 WIB. Subsequently, President Prabowo escorted PM Anwar Ibrahim’s departure in the same vehicle to Halim airport,” said Cabinet Secretary Teddy, quoted from the Presidential Secretariat’s BPMI in Jakarta on Friday.
Teddy explained that the meeting held at Merdeka Palace in Jakarta proceeded warmly, reflecting the personal closeness between the two leaders.
“The atmosphere of the meeting was warm. In that friendly conversation, they exchanged Eid greetings while discussing geopolitical dynamics in West Asia, as well as various strategic issues of mutual concern,” said Teddy.
According to him, the intensity of the three-hour discussion demonstrated the depth of dialogue between the two leaders in responding to the continuously evolving global situation.
The personal closeness between President Prabowo and PM Anwar was also evident until the end of the meeting, including when they left the Palace for the airport in one vehicle.
The meeting is part of efforts to maintain bilateral communication and coordination amid dynamic global geopolitical challenges.
Furthermore, PM Anwar’s visit to Jakarta reinforces the close relations between Indonesia and Malaysia, both in the context of inter-state relations and the closeness between leaders.
The government views intensive dialogues like this as important for strengthening strategic cooperation and aligning views in addressing various regional and global issues.
