Cabinet Secretary: Presidential Palace to Open to the Public for Eid Halal Bihalal
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the Presidential Palace in Jakarta will open to the general public for a halal bihalal event on Eid al-Fitr 1447 H, which falls on Saturday.
“If at the Palace, in the afternoon, we are preparing a halal bihalal, silaturahim for all members of the public who wish to visit,” said Teddy in Medan, North Sumatra, on Friday (20/3).
Teddy explained that the event is planned to take place from afternoon to evening, with a capacity of around 5,000 people. The attending public, he said, will be served in shifts.
Additional facilities in the form of tents in the outdoor area will be provided to accommodate visitors if the indoor capacity is full.
Teddy mentioned that various food offerings will be prepared for the event, including traditional Eid dishes such as ketupat. Simple entertainment for children who come with their families will also be arranged.
“The public who might come with their families can tour around; if they want to stop by the Palace during Eid al-Fitr, they are welcome,” he added.
Regarding President Prabowo Subianto’s presence at the halal bihalal event at the Palace, Teddy said it has not yet been confirmed, as it depends on the Head of State’s schedule.
“Then perhaps, perhaps Mr President will give greetings, but the timing is tentative because we don’t yet know what the activities will be tomorrow,” he said.
It is known that on Saturday morning, President Prabowo is scheduled to perform Eid al-Fitr prayers in Aceh Tamiang, Aceh, while also inspecting post-flood disaster handling in the area.
The opening of the Palace to the public during the Eid moment follows the same pattern as in previous years, where the public is given the opportunity to visit and engage in silaturahmi within the Presidential Palace grounds.
