Cabinet Secretary: President Wants Citizens to Share Happiness at People's Bazaar

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that President Prabowo Subianto wants as many citizens as possible to celebrate Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah in an atmosphere of togetherness through a people’s bazaar and entertainment held in the Monas area, Jakarta, on Saturday afternoon.

“Stemming from the high enthusiasm of the public during last week’s Eid at the Palace, the President wants as many people as possible to share the joy of Eid in a warm and communal atmosphere,” said Cabinet Secretary Teddy in a written statement quoted from the BPMI of the Presidential Secretariat.

Teddy explained that the activity is part of the government’s efforts to bring Eid happiness to the wider community, especially Jakarta residents who did not go home or have returned from their hometowns, particularly beneficiary families.

The government has prepared 100,000 shopping vouchers for groceries and free goods worth Rp500,000 per voucher, as well as 300,000 free meal portions served by around 800 small-scale UMKM traders involved in the event.

The people’s bazaar also involves traders from various trading centres such as Tanah Abang and Senen, so this activity simultaneously encourages economic circulation among the community amid the Eid holiday moment.

Visitors also have the chance to win door prizes in the form of 1,000 bicycles and 100 electric motorbikes.

The festive atmosphere is enhanced with various children’s games and a people’s entertainment stage featuring the music groups Wali and Bagindas.

The event, centred at Silang Monas, runs from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. WIB and is open to all levels of society.

“This Eid is not just about tradition, but about the presence of happiness and togetherness for all,” said Teddy.
