President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to perform Eid al-Adha prayers at the Indonesian Embassy in Paris, according to Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

‘President Prabowo is set to conduct Eid al-Adha prayers and meet with Indonesian nationals at the Indonesian Embassy in Paris,’ said Cabinet Secretary Teddy in a written statement received in Jakarta on Tuesday.

President Prabowo Subianto arrived at Paris Orly Airport at 10:00 local time after a 16-hour flight, departing from Jakarta, Indonesia, on Monday evening (25 May).

Cabinet Secretary Teddy stated that the Head of State’s arrival in Paris marks the start of a state visit long planned since last year, which has been rescheduled multiple times.

He noted that upon landing, President Prabowo was greeted at the aircraft stairs by France’s Minister of Labour and Solidarity, Jean-Pierre Farandou, and a ceremonial guard of honour.

Additionally, hundreds of Indonesian citizens enthusiastically welcomed the President at his hotel early in the morning.

‘There are numerous super strategic collaborations between Indonesia and France, and this state visit aims to further strengthen Indonesia’s position in Europe, particularly France,’ he said.

Furthermore, according to Teddy Indra Wijaya, the bilateral relationship between Indonesia and France is mutually complementary in global affairs.

‘Indonesia serves as a key gateway for Europe-Asia relations, while France is a crucial bridge for Asia, especially Southeast Asia, to Europe,’ Teddy added.
