Cabinet Secretary: President and Ray Dalio Discuss Economy and Danantara's Strength

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that President Prabowo Subianto received Ray Dalio, one of Danantara’s advisors and a prominent figure in the international financial world, at Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Friday. The meeting discussed projections for strengthening Indonesia’s economic growth, including the optimisation of Danantara’s role in promoting the national economy. “This afternoon, President Prabowo Subianto received Ray Dalio as one of Danantara’s advisors and a key figure in the international financial world, at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta,” Teddy said in a statement in Jakarta on Friday. Further, Teddy revealed that the discussion focused on the potential and prospects for Indonesia’s economic growth moving forward. In this context, the President also highlighted the importance of strengthening Danantara’s role as a driving force for national economic growth. “The meeting discussed Indonesia’s economic prospects, as well as the optimisation and strengthening of Danantara’s role as the engine of Indonesia’s economic growth,” Teddy explained. Teddy conveyed that the establishment of Danantara by the President last year was a strategic step in optimising state assets. As a sovereign wealth fund, Danantara is expected to continue strengthening strategic partnerships and increasing international confidence. “Danantara, as Indonesia’s strategic investment management body established by President Prabowo Subianto in February 2025 to optimise state assets, manage strategic SOEs, and act as a Sovereign Wealth Fund, continues to collaborate with strategic partners to enhance trust and Danantara’s strength in the international arena,” he added. Also present at the meeting were Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, Minister of Investment and Head of BPI Danantara Rosan Roeslani, Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. This meeting reaffirms Indonesia’s steps not only to survive but to emerge as a new global economic force with strategy, collaboration, and trust as its main foundations.
