Cabinet Secretary: Prabowo-Putin Meeting Crucial, Discusses Energy Supply Stability
Prabowo departed for Russia on Sunday (12/3) evening and is expected to arrive on Monday (13/3) morning local time. Prabowo will immediately meet with Putin in the afternoon.
“President Prabowo is scheduled to hold a one-on-one meeting with President Vladimir Putin in the afternoon,” explained Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya in his statement on Monday (13/3/2026).
According to Teddy, the meeting between the two leaders is crucial amid ongoing global dynamics. “Amid constantly changing global dynamics, this meeting is highly crucial,” he stated.
In the meeting agenda, Teddy conveyed that the two leaders will discuss several strategic issues, including strengthening national energy resilience through continued cooperation with the Russian government.
“Continuing cooperation with the Russian government and ensuring stable national energy supplies, including oil availability,” he said.
Additionally, according to Teddy, the two heads of state will also exchange views on global geopolitical developments. Prabowo will voice Indonesia’s position in continuously promoting global peace.
“Voicing Indonesia’s strategic position in maintaining global stability and peace,” Teddy stated.
It is noted that Prabowo took off from Halim Perdanakusuma TNI AU Base, Jakarta, around 23:10 WIB. Prabowo’s departure was seen off directly by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming, State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, TNI Commander Agus Subiyanto, National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and National Intelligence Agency Chief Muhammad Herindra.
Accompanying Prabowo on this visit are, among others, Foreign Minister Sugiono, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
