President Prabowo Subianto attended the dinner of the 48th ASEAN Summit hosted by Philippine President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. at Mactan Expo in Cebu, Philippines, on Friday (8/6) evening, to strengthen solidarity in the region.

In a statement from the Cabinet Secretariat quoted in Jakarta on Saturday, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said the dinner was part of the ASEAN Summit activities to foster solidarity among regional countries in facing various global dynamics.

“The President’s presence is part of the ASEAN Summit agenda to strengthen regional solidarity and cooperation amid global and regional dynamics,” said Teddy.

The shirt worn by the President featured Indonesian batik embroidery motifs, reflecting cultural harmony and friendship between Indonesia and the Philippines.

The dinner atmosphere was filled with familiarity and warmth. The leaders were also treated to traditional Filipino cultural performances.

“A warm and friendly atmosphere coloured the dinner, including when ASEAN leaders enjoyed traditional Filipino cultural performances and engaged in informal conversations during breaks from the official summit agenda,” said Teddy.

Other leaders present at the dinner included Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, Timor Leste Prime Minister Xanana Gusmão, and Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung.
