Cabinet Secretary: Prabowo and Emperor Naruhito Discuss Investments to Environment
Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto held a meeting with Japanese Emperor Naruhito at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo on Monday, discussing a range of strategic issues covering investments, energy, and environmental preservation.
As posted on the Instagram account of the Cabinet Secretariat (@sekretariat.kabinet) on Monday, the meeting formed part of President Prabowo’s official visit to Japan.
“In the meeting, President Prabowo and Emperor Naruhito discussed several strategic issues of mutual interest between the two countries in the fields of investment, energy, and environmental preservation,” said Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya when contacted by ANTARA on Monday.
In the 45-minute one-on-one meeting, the two heads of state continued their agenda with lunch, bringing the total time spent at the Imperial Palace to around two hours.
In addition to meeting Emperor Naruhito, President Prabowo also met with Japan’s Crown Prince Fumihito, the brother of Emperor Naruhito. This meeting further strengthens friendly relations between Indonesia and Japan at the imperial family level.
After the meeting, President Prabowo, along with Emperor Naruhito and Crown Prince Fumihito, attended a state lunch held at Rensui North, Imperial Palace.
This occasion not only reflects official inter-state relations but also demonstrates the genuine closeness between the two leaders.
The warmth created serves as a strong signal that the Indonesia-Japan partnership continues to progress, becoming ever closer and more strategic in the future.
In the meeting, President Prabowo was accompanied by his son Ragowo Hediprasetyo (Didit), Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Foreign Minister Sugiono, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
This visit reaffirms that Indonesia-Japan relations are built not only on strategic interests but also bound by mutual respect, trust, and increasingly solid friendship over time.
