Cabinet Secretary: People's Bazaar at Monas Extends Eid Joy
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya conveyed that the People’s Bazaar taking place in the Monas area, Jakarta, on Saturday, is a follow-up to President Prabowo Subianto’s instructions to ensure the momentum of Eid al-Fitr can be felt by all layers of society. According to him, this activity is designed in an integrated manner involving various ministries and presenting a variety of activities for the public. “The President instructed us, and also through the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs and several other ministries to hold the bazaar. Then affordable markets, then public entertainment, then children’s games,” said Teddy. The government is also striving to expand access to that happiness through similar activities in public spaces. “The President wants to make the atmosphere of Eid joy still felt, so perhaps for the first time, the first time after Eid here, at Monas, in this large field, an event like this is held. So if you look behind, there’s the Palace for the People, so it’s hoped that all society can celebrate Eid,” he said. Teddy explained that public enthusiasm has been very high since the afternoon and continues to increase until night. “Earlier, the report from the Provincial Police Chief, more than 100,000 people, from 4 pm who came here, and it gets busier, maybe 200,000, the food portions alone 300,000, and the report earlier it’s almost finished, so yeah, more than that,” said Teddy. “This is the first time of course, the President certainly wants the best, yeah, it will definitely be routine like that,” Teddy concluded.
