Cabinet Secretary: Ministry of Transportation to Evaluate Green SM Taxi Following Train Collision

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the Ministry of Transportation will evaluate Green SM Taxi following the collision between the long-distance Argo Bromo Anggrek train and the KRL Commuter Line at Bekasi Timur Station in West Java on Monday (27/4) evening. Teddy conveyed that Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi, through Director General of Land Transportation Aan Suhanan, will assess the Vietnamese taxi company. “In this regard, the Minister of Transportation through his Director General of Land Transportation has stated that he will evaluate the Green taxi company,” said the Cabinet Secretary when contacted in Jakarta on Tuesday. The government, according to Teddy, is also committed to promptly conducting a comprehensive overhaul, including an adequate railway crossing security system. Meanwhile, Green SM Indonesia, the electric taxi company, has issued a statement following the accident involving one of its vehicles with a passing train at the railway crossing near Bekasi Timur Station on Monday (27/4) evening. In a written statement shared on the company’s official Instagram account @id.greensm on Tuesday, Green SM Indonesia stated that it has provided relevant information to the authorities regarding the accident incident. “We have provided relevant information to the authorities and fully support the ongoing investigation process,” said the Vietnamese electric taxi company. “Safety remains our top priority. We are committed to maintaining high safety standards through operational systems, supervision, and continuous service improvements,” the company stated. In its latest statement, the company also expressed deep condolences and sympathies to the families and loved ones of the victims. “We are concerned about this incident and hope that all involved parties recover quickly and are in safe condition,” said the taxi company. The accident between the Argo Bromo Anggrek train and the KRL Commuter Line occurred at Bekasi Timur Station on Monday (27/4) evening. PT KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin stated that based on the latest data as of 08:45 WIB, 14 people have died. The deceased victims have been taken to Kramat Jati Police Hospital for further identification. Meanwhile, 84 injured victims have received medical treatment at various health facilities.
