Jakarta — Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya affirmed that Indonesia’s participation in the Board of Peace represents a concrete step towards achieving peace in Palestine.

“Participating in the Board of Peace is a concrete solution for realising peace in Palestine. All such efforts are worthwhile for Indonesia to undertake and join as a tangible means of directly influencing the policies adopted,” Cabinet Secretary Teddy said when contacted by ANTARA on Friday.

As posted on the Cabinet Secretariat’s Instagram account on Friday, President Prabowo Subianto attended the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace (BoP) held at the Donald Trump United States Institute of Peace in Washington, D.C., on Thursday (19 February) local time.

The inaugural meeting aimed to consolidate the commitment of member nations in supporting the reconstruction of Gaza, including through potential financial and operational contributions.

In his remarks, President Prabowo affirmed Indonesia’s full support for the 20-point plan initiated by United States President Donald Trump as a framework for regional stabilisation and peace.

Furthermore, Indonesia reaffirmed its support for the long-term reconstruction and stabilisation agenda for Gaza, oriented towards the recovery of civilian life, institutional development, and respect for the rights of the Palestinian people.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy stated that this position simultaneously strengthens Indonesia’s consistency in promoting the realisation of the Two-State Solution as the path towards just and sustainable peace in the Middle East.

Meanwhile, in his remarks, President Trump openly expressed his admiration for President Prabowo’s leadership character, describing him as a tough leader respected by the international community.

President Trump even referred to President Prabowo as a figure who is both strong and intelligent in navigating various global dynamics.

“Somebody I like very much, he’s really tough. I wouldn’t want to go up against him. President Prabowo Subianto of Indonesia,” said President Trump, drawing the attention of forum participants.
