Cabinet Secretary: Indonesia Increasingly Ready to Host World-Class Events
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya has invited the public to explore various regions of Indonesia while enjoying a range of sporting, cultural, musical, and exhibition events scheduled throughout 2026 and into early 2027. The invitation was conveyed by Teddy via his official social media post on Saturday (25/7/2026).
“It is time to explore Indonesia, enjoying various interesting events across the country,” the Cabinet Secretary wrote.
A number of national and international scale agendas have been scheduled in various regions. Entering August 2026, the public can look forward to international football matches, music festivals, the Maybank Marathon Bali, and a series of commemorations for the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia.
In the following months, the national calendar will feature events such as the Jakarta Triathlon, Indonesia Design Week, Pestapora, MotoGP Mandalika, Jakarta Fashion Week, the Borobudur Marathon, and various concerts by national and international musicians. At the end of the year, Indonesia is also scheduled to host world-class music festivals and automotive sports events.
The excitement continues into January and February 2027. Scheduled agendas include the BIGBANG 20/26 World Tour, the ENHYPEN World Tour “Blood Saga”, the Westlife 25 Years of Hits Anniversary World Tour, and the Indonesia Masters 2027 badminton tournament.
According to Teddy, the presence of these various events demonstrates Indonesia’s readiness to host international standard activities. Beyond mere entertainment and competition, each event also has a broad impact on the community and regional economy.
“Indonesia is increasingly ready to become a host for world-class events. Not only presenting entertainment and achievement, but also opening space for collaboration, driving tourism, energising local economies, and providing opportunities for the community to work and develop,” he stated.
These various agendas are expected to attract the movement of tourists, both inter-regional and international. The presence of visitors also has the potential to drive the hospitality, transportation, culinary, creative economy, and micro, small, and medium enterprise sectors around the event locations.
Teddy also invited the public to start planning their trips and become part of the festivities of the various events held across the country.
“Mark the dates. Plan your trip. Be a part of Indonesia’s excitement,” he urged.
Teddy emphasised that Indonesia is not just a location for hosting various activities, but also a meeting space for diverse works, culture, achievement, and collaboration.
“Let us together welcome every moment, because Indonesia is not just a place where an event takes place, but a home for inspiring works, culture, achievement, and collaboration,” said Teddy.
