Cabinet Secretary details Hajj and WNI repatriation achievements as tangible outcomes of Prabowo's diplomacy
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya outlined Indonesia’s diplomatic achievements following suggestions from former Deputy Foreign Minister Dino Patti Djalal, stating these results are concrete outcomes of President Prabowo Subianto’s foreign diplomacy.
‘First, Indonesia joined BRICS. What are the benefits? Amid global conflicts and crises, the nation’s stability is secured. Fuel stocks are sufficient, subsidized fuel prices remain stable, and food supplies are secure. Secondly, the EU has granted 0% tariffs,’ Teddy said in a video posted on the Cabinet Secretariat’s social media account on Monday, 1 June 2026.
‘The agreement covers 25 countries. This deal had been negotiated for over a decade, but it was only achieved under President Prabowo—specifically last year in 2025,’ he added.
Teddy also revealed that total investments over the past 18 months amounted to approximately Rp 2.430 trillion, including around Rp 575 trillion from Prabowo’s visits to Japan and South Korea.
Teddy added that Indonesia now possesses robust defence equipment from multiple countries, including France, the United States, Russia, China, and the UK.
‘Fifth, the 2025 Hajj programme and this year’s were smooth, with almost no significant issues. Indonesia is the only country with a dedicated Hajj settlement in Saudi Arabia,’ he said.
Saudi Arabia amended its laws to allow nations to secure land in the country for Hajj pilgrims, Teddy said. Prabowo has also actively contributed to Palestine, including air-dropped logistics.
‘This has occurred multiple times. Not all countries can do this. Why? It requires diplomatic coordination with nations whose airspace the aircraft traverse,’ Teddy explained.
Teddy stated Indonesia has sent hospital ships to Palestine and enrolled hundreds of Palestinian children in Indonesian universities. He added that around 100 students are currently studying here, among other initiatives.
Additionally, Teddy mentioned nine Indonesian citizens detained by Israel in international waters last week, who were repatriated within days through diplomatic efforts by the Foreign Minister and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
‘Remember, all the achievements I mentioned are tangible results from the past 18 months. These are all diplomatic efforts by President Prabowo through various means—both public and private,’ Teddy said. ‘For us, the concrete outcomes are what matter most. That is our priority,’ he added.
