Cabinet Secretary and Jakarta Governor Discuss Public Transport and Green Spaces
Jakarta - Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya met with Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung to discuss a number of issues, including strengthening the public transport system, developing green open spaces, and accelerating various strategic projects in collaboration between the central government and the Jakarta administration. The meeting took place at the Cabinet Secretariat building on Monday morning, beginning with both officials greeting and meeting all Cabinet Secretariat staff. “In the meeting, several strategic programmes were discussed, including the development of green open spaces and city parks, handling environmental issues and improving public facilities, and strengthening the public transport system through the construction of the MRT and LRT, which is being carried out collaboratively by the central government and the Jakarta Provincial Government,” said the Cabinet Secretary. They also discussed preparations for a number of project inaugurations by President Prabowo Subianto for various national strategic projects located in Jakarta. The meeting was a special moment as Governor Pramono Anung previously served as Cabinet Secretary from 2015 to 2024 before assuming his current role. Pramono noted in his official post that the visit reunited him with colleagues he had worked with for nearly nine years. “It was a pleasure to reminisce and reconnect,” he said. He added that he and Cabinet Secretary Teddy discussed the development of green open spaces, strengthening public transport through the MRT and LRT, area revitalisation, and accelerating various strategic projects in cooperation with the central government, in line with President Prabowo Subianto’s directives.
