Cabinet Secretary and HIPMI Discuss National Competitiveness of SMEs
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya received a visit from the Chairman of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) Akbar Himawan Buchari to discuss developments and opportunities for national business actors at the Cabinet Secretariat office in Jakarta. In an official Instagram statement from the Cabinet Secretariat in Jakarta on Tuesday, the meeting addressed the latest developments in the micro, small, and medium enterprise (UMKM) sector, including various challenges and opportunities in enhancing the competitiveness of national business actors. “The courtesy meeting, still in the Eid atmosphere, discussed the latest developments in the UMKM sector, including various challenges and opportunities faced in efforts to improve the competitiveness of business actors,” said Teddy. During the meeting, HIPMI conveyed several strategic inputs to the government to strengthen support for UMKM. Key issues discussed included access to financing, accelerating business digitalisation, and expanding market access for business actors both domestically and internationally. “The HIPMI Chairman also reported plans for the implementation of the 2026 HIPMI National Conference, which will serve as a momentum for organisational consolidation and strengthening the role of young entrepreneurs in the national economy,” Teddy stated. The meeting affirmed the importance of synergy between the government and the business world in creating a more inclusive and competitive business ecosystem, particularly for UMKM as the backbone of Indonesia’s economy.
