Cabinet Reshuffle Issue Today, Qodari of KSP: Let's Just Wait
Head of the Presidential Staff Office Muhammad Qodari has responded to reports of a cabinet reshuffle. President Prabowo Subianto is rumoured to swear in several officials today, Monday, 27 April 2026.
He stated that the President can conduct a reshuffle at any time. “That is entirely the president’s prerogative,” Qodari told reporters on Monday.
Therefore, he asked the public to wait for news from the Gerindra Party Chairman. “Let’s just wait for developments from him,” said the founder of the Indo Barometer survey institute.
Deputy Interior Minister Bima Arya Sugiarto also commented on the widely reported rumours of a cabinet reshuffle to be carried out by President Prabowo Subianto. He said that the authority lies entirely with the president.
“That is the prerogative of Mr President. Yes, we are prepared for all scenarios; the important thing now is for the entire cabinet to keep working. I haven’t heard anything at all,” Bima said at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Jakarta, on Monday, 27 April 2026.
Rumours of a reshuffle have emerged several times since the beginning of this year. At the end of January 2026, the rumours strengthened after Thomas Djiwandono was appointed as Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia. This appointment left the position of Deputy Finance Minister, which he previously held, vacant.
The news was later confirmed when President Prabowo swore in Juda Agung, former Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia, to fill that position. Thomas and Juda swapped roles.
Rumours of a cabinet reshuffle resurfaced after Budisatrio Djiwandono was said to be set to join the cabinet, according to House Commission I Chairman Utut Adianto. Utut made the statement during a working meeting with the Ministry of Defence and the TNI on Monday, 26 January.
On the other hand, Chairman of the All-Indonesian Confederation of Workers’ Unions (KSPSI) Mohammad Jumhur Hidayat is reported to soon become a minister in the Red and White Cabinet amid the resurfacing reshuffle rumours. Jumhur confirmed the news that he would be sworn in by President Prabowo Subianto. “Yes, it’s true (I will be sworn in by the president as a minister),” said the former Head of the National Agency for Placement and Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (BNP2TKI) when contacted on Monday, 27 April 2026.
