Jakarta — The Red and White Cabinet’s ministers held a closed-door coordination meeting to discuss the Coordination Meeting on Oversight of the President’s Strategic Programmes at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in central Jakarta on Tuesday.

According to ANTARA observations at the Ministry of Defence office, the meeting chaired by State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi commenced at approximately 10:08 AM local time.

In the conference room, several ministers and heads of state bodies in attendance included the Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Minister of Basic and Secondary Education Abdul Muti, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology Brian Yuliarto, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, Minister of State Administration Reform Rini Widyantini, Head of the State Personnel Agency Zudan Arif Fakrulloh, Head of the Central Statistics Agency Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, Deputy Minister of Cooperatives Farida Farichah, and Chief Executive of PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara Joao Mota.

However, the Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, the meeting’s host, was absent.

“My apologies on behalf of the Defence Minister, who was unable to attend this event due to previously scheduled activities outside the region,” said Deputy Defence Minister Donny Ermawan Taufanto in the conference room.

Following this meeting, the government will reconvene for another session on Thursday (12 March) to implement directives from President Prabowo Subianto.

For today’s meeting, Donny added, it was hoped that all invited ministerial officials would be able to reach a strategic decision regarding government programmes.

“So that at this opportune moment we can make a decision. What the President expects is that this must be implemented promptly, and the available time is very limited,” Donny said.

Nevertheless, Donny did not explain why the meeting was held at the Ministry of Defence office or what type of government programmes were being discussed in this meeting.
