JAKARTA — Several ministers from President Prabowo Subianto’s Red and White Cabinet attended the funeral procession of Indonesia’s sixth Vice President, Try Sutrisno, at Kalibata Heroes Cemetery (TMP Kalibata) in South Jakarta on Monday, 2 March 2026.

Present at the ceremony were Coordinating Minister for Law, Security, Immigration, and Correctional Affairs Yusril Ihza Mahendra, Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono.

Also in attendance were the President’s Special Advisor on National Defence Dudung Abdurachman and the President’s brother, Hashim Djojohadikusumo.

President Prabowo served as the ceremony’s inspector, accompanied by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

Try Sutrisno’s remains arrived at Kalibata Heroes Cemetery in a coffin draped with the Indonesian flag and were greeted by TNI troops from the Presidential Guard unit. The funeral procession entered the cemetery complex accompanied by the sound of a marching band drum and ceremonial gun salutes as a final tribute.

The coffin was then carried to the burial site prepared beside the graves of Pramono Edhie Wibowo and Ani Yudhoyono. The location is also near the burial site of Indonesia’s third President Bacharuddin Jusuf Habibie and his wife, Hasri Ainun Besari.

Several TNI soldiers prepared to participate in the final tribute ceremony. Military personnel stood guard at various security points around the cemetery area.

Try Sutrisno passed away at the age of 90 at RSPAD Gatot Soebroto Hospital in Jakarta on Monday at 06:58 Western Indonesian Time. According to statements from his family, his death was due to advanced age, with gradual decline in bodily functions rather than any specific illness.

Try had been receiving medical care since 16 February 2026 due to a loss of appetite. The medical team at RSPAD, together with the presidential team, provided maximum medical treatment during his hospitalisation.
