C. Java to host Caltex Yamaha Cup

SEMARANG (JP): Surakarta, Central Java, will host the 2001 Caltex Yamaha Cup national motor racing championships at the Solo Baru circuit starting Monday.

"The best racers from Bandung, Malang, Semarang, Yogyakarta as well as from Surakarta, will take part in the race," the organizing committee chief Yuwono Santoso R. said on Thursday.

"We also insure all participants, officials and spectators although the event is free of charge," he added.

The championships will feature five events for beginners and senior racers. Those interested can register at the Yamaha Center on Jl. Gatot Subroto no. 160, Surakarta, or contact (0271) 651978.(har)
