C. Java swimmers go to SEA Games

JAKARTA (JP): Two swimmers from Central Java were picked to strengthen Indonesia at the upcoming 18th Southeast Asian Games in Chiang Mai, Thailand, after clocking acceptable times in a national selection.

Meitri Widya Pangestika from Banyumas, Central Java, clocked 0:59.25 and 0:27.03 in the women's 100m and 50m freestyle, slightly shorter than the expected times of 0:59.78 and 0:27.78 for the two events respectively held here recently.

Audi Octavianus from Magelang clocked slightly behind the prescribed times but still qualified for the SEA Games. His times were 1:07.06 and 2:18.35 in the men's 100m breaststroke and 200m individual medley, in which he was suppossed to clock 1:06.56 and 2:10.84 respectively, the Central Java chapter of the Indonesian Swimming Association announced yesterday.
