C. Jakarta has new immigration office

JAKARTA (JP): The Central Jakarta Immigration office has been moved from its tiny office on Jl. Teuku Umar to a new building at Jl. Merpati Blok B12/3, Kemayoran starting from Monday this week, an official said.

Coordinator for Immigration Affairs of the Jakarta regional Ministry of Justice office, Hamsuk S. Wijaya, said in a statement that the former office was too narrow and no longer comfortable for the staff serving the public.

"The immigration service at the Central Jakarta immigration office has recorded a rapid increase in cases handled," Hamsuk said, giving no figures.

Since moving on Monday, the office has already provided all kinds of immigration services, including the procurement of new passports, temporary residence permits (kitas), permanent residence permits (kitap), exit and reentry permits as well as other documents. (emf)
