ByteDance denies rumours regarding car launch plans with Seres Group
Jakarta (ANTARA) - ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, has officially denied rumours regarding plans to launch a car in collaboration with Seres Group.
CarNewsChina reported on Saturday (6/6) that ByteDance stated the company has no plans to launch a new car or brand. The company also clarified that neither ByteDance nor its AI sub-brand, Seedance, holds controlling shares in Seres’s Saidou Technology.
This statement follows rumours of a new car launch that emerged following the restructuring of Chongqing Landian Technology, a subsidiary of Seres, which led to the formation of a new brand, “Saidou Technology.”
According to Saidou and Seres, the new entity aims to “explore the infinite possibilities of AI-defined vehicles,” hinting at a significant integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology within their vehicles.
Since ByteDance has denied any involvement with Saidou, it is expected that Saidou’s new vehicles will only integrate Volcano Engine technology with AI capabilities and Dola’s smart cockpit.
