BYD to Soon Sell PHEV Model
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - BYD has introduced the Denza B5 some time ago with plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) technology. Recently, BYD Indonesia has also begun serious efforts to educate about this technology. BYD has its own term for PHEV technology, called Dual Mode (DM). The internal combustion engine is primarily used to charge the battery. This education was featured in a recent post on the official Instagram account of BYD Indonesia @byd_indonesia. The post lightly explains how BYD’s Dual Mode technology works. Head of Public and Government Relations at PT BYD Motor Indonesia, Luther Panjaitan, confirmed that the company will launch this new technology in Indonesia. “This technology also addresses the current uncertainty in fuel prices and aligns with the government’s energy transition programme,” said Luther. Interestingly, the vehicle used as an illustration in the post is not the Denza B5, but the M6. Some time ago, a vehicle suspected to be the M6 with DM technology was caught on camera during a road test. At that time, BYD was reluctant to comment on its new product.
