BYD Showroom in BSD City Fire Originates from Storage Area

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - A fire broke out at a BYD showroom located in BSD Raya Utama, Lengkong Kulon, Pagedangan, Tangerang Regency, on Monday (25/5/2026).

Information about the fire was received by the editorial team while conducting a test drive shoot in BSD City, South Tangerang around 2:30 PM WIB. Smoke was observed rising from the rear of the showroom building.

Direct observations at the scene showed several cars inside the showroom being evacuated to the outside of the dealership to prevent the fire from spreading. Showroom service activities were temporarily halted during the firefighting process.

Head of Public and Government Relations for PT BYD Motor Indonesia, Luther Panjaitan, stated that the situation had been handled and the fire was completely extinguished by evening.

‘The smoke has been contained and the fire is fully extinguished,’ Luther told Kompas.com on Monday evening.

He explained that the fire originated from the storage warehouse at the back of the showroom.

‘The affected part of the showroom was the rear storage warehouse, specifically materials made of paper and cardboard,’ Luther said.

‘The primary source of the fire is still under investigation, but there were no casualties,’ he added.
