BYD Seal 6 DM: A Plug-in Hybrid Variant of the EV Model (Video)
BYD Indonesia has embarked on a new chapter with the launch of its plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) technology. The M6 Dual Mode (DM) has already been officially introduced. However, besides the M6 DM, the Seal 6 DM is also in the pipeline; speculation is growing that BYD will soon release this PHEV sedan to the Indonesian market.
What distinguishes the BYD Seal 6 DM from the all-electric version already on the road? The key difference lies in its classification as a hybrid electrified vehicle, or DM model with PHEV technology, which still utilises a conventional internal combustion engine.
The petrol engine delivers 74 kW (approximately 100.6 horsepower) and 126 Nm of torque, while the electric motor produces over 200 horsepower. BYD claims the Seal 6 DM can travel 128 kilometres on pure electric mode when fully charged, without relying on the petrol engine.
