BYD Reveals Plans for the New Generation Atto 1

Jakarta (ANTARA) – BYD’s second-generation Seagull electric hatchback, known as the Atto 1 in Indonesia, has opened for pre-orders in China.

The latest-generation Atto 1 has received several updates, including larger dimensions and a battery using the latest technology: the second-generation Blade Battery.

The Atto 1 has received a positive response in Indonesia, partly thanks to its price, which starts at around Rp199 million. So will the latest generation also be launched in the country?

“BYD’s latest Atto 1 is currently being prepared specifically for the Chinese market. There is no information yet about bringing it to other markets,” Luther said.

He explained that BYD’s current product strategy is to consider models already sold in China for overseas markets where they are a good fit.

“This is common in the product strategies of several brands: certain regions or countries may have models that meet their market’s preferences or demand sooner,” he said.

Nevertheless, there are currently no plans to launch the latest-generation Atto 1 in Indonesia.

In China, BYD has opened pre-orders for the second-generation Seagull. The new model is an evolution of the compact electric car sold in Indonesia as the Atto 1.
