BYD prepares Seal 06 station wagon with EV range of up to 210 km
Jakarta — BYD is preparing a plug-in hybrid station wagon variant of the Seal 06 with an electric-only driving range of up to 210 kilometres in pure electric driving mode according to the Worldwide Harmonized Light Duty Driving Test Cycle (WLTC) standard.
According to a CarNewsChina report on Sunday (15 March) citing documents from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the vehicle combines a naturally aspirated petrol engine with an electric motor.
The Seal 06 hybrid station wagon’s internal combustion engine can generate approximately 74 kW of power, whilst its electric motor can produce 175 kW of peak power.
According to documents from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the vehicle is equipped with a battery pack with a capacity of 34.275 kWh, enabling the vehicle to travel up to 210 kilometres in pure electric mode.
Information regarding battery chemistry and suppliers is not specified in the documents.
Details about the drivetrain layout are not mentioned, including whether this model uses front-wheel drive or another configuration.
Driver assistance hardware on the vehicle may include an optional Lidar unit mounted on the roof.
The ministry documents also detail other sensor configurations such as front and rear radar and cameras integrated into the exterior mirrors.
The wagon variant in the Seal 06 lineup maintains the family design language of the Seal.
Slim headlamps with BYD lettering are fitted to the front of the vehicle.
The front bumper features an inverted trapezoid-shaped air opening with ventilation on the left and right sides.
At the rear, the vehicle has full-width tail lights, a roof spoiler with high-mounted brake light, and a rear camera positioned near the spoiler. A rear windscreen wiper is available as an optional feature.
Consumers will be able to choose wheel options ranging from 16 to 18 inches and various exterior configurations such as a panoramic roof and window trim variations.
