BYD now has 10,000 Flash Charging stations across China

Chinese automotive company BYD has announced that its Flash Charging electric vehicle charging network now covers 10,000 stations spread across 325 cities throughout China, having cumulatively delivered 210 million kWh of electricity.

According to a CarNewsChina report, the company’s achievement was announced on Friday at the inauguration of the Shenzhen Longhua Flash Charging Flagship Station, BYD’s 10,000th Flash Charging station.

BYD Executive Vice President He Zhiqi said that the BYD charging network reached 10,000 stations in less than six months since the company announced its latest Flash Charging technology on 5 March.

BYD named Hulunbuir in Inner Mongolia, Sanya in Hainan, Shuangyashan in Heilongjiang, and Kashgar in Xinjiang as the northernmost, southernmost, easternmost, and westernmost points in its Flash Charging network.

According to the company, BYD Flash Charging stations are also located in Turpan and near the foot of Mount Everest.

The operation of BYD’s charging network involves partners such as Sinopec, PetroChina, CNOOC, TELD, JD.com, Alipay, AutoNavi (Amap), and Ucar.

In March, the company announced plans to build 20,000 Flash Charging stations in China by the end of 2026. That figure includes 18,000 stations in urban areas and 2,000 stations on motorways.

BYD had achieved 50 per cent of that target by 28 August 2026, leaving 125 days to build another 10,000 stations before 31 December 2026.

In addition to building a network of electric vehicle charging stations in China, BYD plans to install 6,000 Flash Charging stations outside China, including 3,000 stations in Europe.

Meanwhile, BYD’s premium brand Denza plans to expand its presence to more than 30 countries in Europe with a target of having more than 150 sales outlets by the end of 2026.
