BYD M6 DM officially priced starting from Rp298 million

Jakarta (ANTARA) - BYD Indonesia has revealed the pricing for the BYD M6 DM Plug-in Hybrid EV (PHEV), with prices starting from Rp298 million.

The introduction of this PHEV variant within the M6 family follows the success of the previous M6 EV model.

“Today we are taking a new step. We introduce to you, the BYD M6 DM,” said Eagle Zhao, President Director of PT BYD Motor Indonesia, during the price reveal in Jakarta on Friday.

In Indonesia, the vehicle is available in five variants tailored to meet consumer needs: Classic Standard, Classic Dynamic, Cross Advanced, Cross Superior, and the top-tier Cross Captain.

The vehicle is claimed to offer an environmentally friendly driving solution without the range anxiety typically associated with pure electric vehicles.

The BYD M6 DM is equipped with a 1,500 cc engine producing a maximum power of 72 kW and 125 Nm of torque, alongside an Electric Hybrid System (EHS) 5.0 capable of reaching 15,000 rpm.

The DM technology, which combines EV and Hybrid modes, allows users to drive both short and long distances with efficient energy consumption.

The electric motor and large-capacity battery provide most of the energy required to run the vehicle, while the petrol engine operates efficiently to generate energy when necessary.

The system can combine power from both the electric motor and the engine to enhance efficiency when the vehicle is travelling at high speeds.

In Indonesia, the Classic Standard variant is priced at Rp298 million, Classic Dynamic at Rp318 million, Cross Advanced at Rp360 million, Cross Superior at Rp380 million, and the highest variant, the Cross Captain, is priced at Rp390 million.
