PT BYD Motor Indonesia has officially launched its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, Small Steps for Tomorrow, focusing on education and human resource development. The programme’s first step began at SDN 03 Pondok Petir in Depok, distributing school bags and shoes for students’ use. The event was attended by Indonesia’s Deputy Minister of Basic and Secondary Education, Fajar Riza Ul Haq, Depok City Education Office Head Wahid Suryono, BenihBaik.com Co-Founder and COO Khristiana Anggit Mustikaningrum, and BYD Motor Indonesia’s management, including President Director Eagle Zhao. President Director Eagle Zhao explained the initiative is designed to deliver tangible and relevant social impact. He stated that contributing to education is fundamental to supporting the future of young generations. By 2026, the Small Steps for Tomorrow programme is scheduled to visit 12 schools across regions including Bekasi, Bogor, Banten, Semarang, Kediri, Bali, and Lampung. In addition to distributing school supplies, the Depok kick-off event included educational activities such as drawing and colouring competitions to motivate student creativity. During the event, BYD demonstrated the Vehicle-to-Load (VtoL) feature on their electric vehicles as a portable power source to operate free milk dispensers for students. Additionally, 500 mangrove saplings were planted in North Jakarta, and a Future Mobility Innovation Roadshow for technology education at several Indonesian universities is planned.
