BYD launches Seal 07 EV with second-generation Blade Battery
Jakarta – BYD, the Chinese automotive manufacturer, on Thursday 5 March launched the new electric sedan BYD Seal 07 EV as the first vehicle to use the second-generation Blade Battery and the latest flash-charging technology. According to CarNewsChina’s report on Friday, the mid-size electric sedan is available in two variants priced at 169,900 yuan to 189,900 yuan, roughly Rp396 million to Rp443 million. The Seal 07 EV adopts a rear-wheel-drive architecture with a 240 kW permanent-magnet synchronous motor. According to a document from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the car is equipped with a 69 kWh battery enabling a range of up to 705 km according to the CLTC testing standard. BYD claims the vehicle’s energy consumption can be kept under 10 kWh per 100 km. The Seal 07 EV is available in two variants, the 705 Honor Edition and the 705 Flagship Edition. The 705 Honor Edition, priced at 169,900 yuan (about Rp396 million), uses a 69 kWh battery and has a range of 705 km. Inside, the cabin features three screens in a 2+1 configuration and a W-HUD head-up display. It also includes a minimalist gear selector on the steering column, a wireless charging pad, and an integrated fridge and heater. LiDAR sensors are mounted on the roof to support the autonomous driving system. Deliveries of the Seal 07 EV are scheduled to commence to customers from the Changzhou plant in China at the end of March 2026.
