JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - BYD Indonesia is further expanding the national electric car market through a refresh of the BYD Atto 1 line. Most notably, the new BYD Atto 1 STD variant has been officially launched with a price tag under IDR 200 million.
The introduction of the BYD Atto 1 STD represents a new strategy for BYD to reach consumers who want to switch to electric vehicles but are still considering price as a factor. With a price tag of IDR 199 million, the Atto 1 STD is now one of the most affordable electric cars in Indonesia.
This move also strengthens the position of the BYD Atto 1 as a successful city EV in the national market.
Throughout 2025, BYD recorded sales of over 22,500 units of the Atto 1, making it one of the best-selling electric cars in Indonesia. Its popularity has also contributed to the growth of the urban EV segment, which is increasingly popular among urban communities.
In terms of design, the BYD Atto 1 STD retains the modern character typical of the Atto 1. The car features an electronic column shifter and a new center console that makes the cabin feel more spacious and ergonomic for daily use.
Even though it is the most affordable variant, the features offered are still quite complete for urban mobility needs.
The BYD Atto 1 STD is equipped with a rear view camera, steering wheel tilt adjustment, and a 10.1-inch infotainment screen. In terms of appearance, this variant uses 15-inch wheels with wheel covers and halogen projector headlights.
Meanwhile, the main difference between the BYD Atto 1 STD and the higher variants, namely the Atto 1 Dynamic and Premium, lies in the completeness of features and a more luxurious cabin ambiance.
The Dynamic variant, for example, is equipped with electric folding mirrors, a 6-way electric driver’s seat, synthetic leather seats, BYD App Cloud Services connectivity, an NFC Card Key & Digital Key, a 4-speaker audio system, voice command features, and side curtain airbags.
This variant also uses a 10.1-inch infotainment screen, but with a more complete connectivity ecosystem.
The Premium variant is the most complete version, with additional panoramic imaging, a larger 12.8-inch infotainment screen, TPMS, tilt & telescopic steering, and other additional safety features.
In other words, the BYD Atto 1 STD is more focused on entry-level consumers who are looking for a practical and efficient electric car for urban use, while the Dynamic and Premium variants target users who want more modern features and a more premium driving experience.
“Through the refresh and the introduction of the new BYD Atto 1 variant, we hope to further complement the choices of Indonesian people that are accessible in terms of technology, comfort, and ease of daily use,” said Luther Panjaitan, Head of Public & Government Relations at PT BYD Motor Indonesia.
BYD Atto 1 STD: IDR 199 million
BYD Atto 1 Dynamic: IDR 205 million
BYD Atto 1 Premium: IDR 245 million
These prices make the BYD Atto 1 STD one of the most attractive options in the affordable electric car segment in Indonesia, while also intensifying competition in the urban EV market, which is now filled with various models from China.
