Jakarta (ANTARA) - BYD, through its performance sub-brand Fang Cheng Bao (FCB), introduced the Formula X supercar concept at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show.

According to Carnewschina on Tuesday local time, this concept was displayed alongside Fang Cheng Bao’s new sedan line as part of the “FORM” architecture strategy, which encompasses mass-market passenger models to experimental performance vehicles.

In terms of design, the Formula X adopts a “biological evolution” design language with “Fengbao Eye” front headlights and “Infinity Ring” rear lights inspired by the brand’s logo.

Its body proportions are designed with a 1:2.5 ratio, presenting a long front end and a tapered cabin.

The vehicle’s structure utilises a full carbon fibre body with a focus on aerodynamics.

Inside, the Formula X features a performance-oriented cockpit concept with a minimalist design.

The cabin is equipped with a folding steering mechanism and a centrally mounted screen, using lightweight carbon fibre-based materials to support weight efficiency.

However, BYD has not yet disclosed technical specifications regarding the model’s powertrain system.

In terms of production, this concept is said to be approaching the production version, with about 80 percent of the design retained. The model is targeted for market launch around 2027, depending on further developments.

The presence of Formula X forms part of Fang Cheng Bao’s strategy to expand its product portfolio from SUVs to the high-performance vehicle segment, in line with BYD’s expansion into various global automotive segments.
