BYD Motors Indonesia has no plans to raise vehicle prices although depreciation of the rupiah could impact its production costs. Luther Panjaitan, Head of Public Relations and Government Affairs at PT BYD Motors Indonesia, said the company has anticipated various possibilities before deciding to invest in Indonesia. ‘We have considered these conditions through a comprehensive study and, to date, we remain positive and confident with the strategy we have, both in terms of products, prices, and the promotions we will undertake,’ he said in Jakarta on Monday (18/5). However, he did not rule out the possibility that the company may raise vehicle prices in the future. ‘If asked about potential, it might happen, but at present it is not in our short-term strategy,’ he said. The factory, whose construction is already in its final stage, is targeted to operate in 2026. BYD already has a vehicle marketing network in Indonesia. The Chinese automotive manufacturer has marketed models such as Seal, Atto, Dolphin, and M6 in Indonesia.
