Price estimates for BYD’s latest plug-in hybrid (PHEV), the M6 DM, have begun to circulate. The electric MPV is reportedly priced between Rp310 million and Rp390 million across five variants.

Luther T. Panjaitan, Head of Marketing, PR & Government Relations at PT BYD Motor Indonesia, stated at the BYD Tech Culture Fest in GBK, Senayan, Jakarta, on 31 May 2026: ‘Officially, BYD Indonesia has not yet disclosed the M6 DM’s price to the public.’

He claimed many potential customers are visiting dealerships to confirm prices and place early orders. High market enthusiasm prompted BYD to provide dealers with indicative pricing to give customers a reference before ordering.

‘We have coordinated internally with our sales network to release indicative prices, or estimated pricing, to provide customers with relevant information for placing orders,’ he said.

Luther added that the estimated price list had leaked and spread widely on social media. He declined to confirm whether the figures would match the final official price at launch.

‘It is regrettable that the indicative price was leaked to the public. We have neither confirmed nor denied the information, but it is not the official price BYD will release,’ he said.

‘It is merely indicative pricing shared with the sales network as a reference,’ Luther added.

Although not officially announced, BYD indicated the final price will not deviate significantly from the leaked figures. The company hopes this will give potential customers confidence to place early orders.

‘The indicative price should not be much higher or lower. Hopefully customers feel more confident in making decisions, as they often need immediate clarity. This encourages them to book early,’ he said.

The M6 DM is BYD’s first PHEV model introduced in Indonesia. Launched on 18 May 2026, it features Dual Mode technology combining a petrol engine and electric motor.

Specs include a 1.5-litre engine producing 72 kW of power and 125 Nm of torque, paired with the Electric Hybrid System (EHS) 5.0. The system claims fuel efficiency of up to 65 km per litre and a combined range of over 1,800 kilometres.

On pure electric power, the vehicle can travel up to 300 kilometres. The drivetrain offers three modes: EV, HEV Series, and HEV Parallel, designed to adapt to daily driving and high-speed acceleration needs.
