BYD Atto 3 orders surpass 30,000 units in first week since launch
Jakarta (ANTARA) - BYD has announced that its latest Atto 3 model has received over 30,000 orders within a week of its official launch.
According to Electrek on Friday (29 May) local time, the vehicle, marketed in China as the Yuan Plus, was launched on 21 March starting at 119,900 yuan (approximately Rp315 million). The price is slightly higher than the previous model, which started at 115,800 yuan (around Rp305 million).
Despite this, the BYD Atto 3 features several significant improvements, including the new Blade Battery 2.0 and Flash Charging technology introduced by BYD in March.
The electric SUV is available in two battery capacity options: 57.5 kWh and 68.5 kWh. According to CLTC testing standards, the vehicle can travel up to 540 and 630 kilometres on a single charge, respectively.
The Flash Charging technology allows the battery to charge from 10% to 70% in approximately five minutes, and from 10% to 97% in about nine minutes.
BYD also claims the battery can be charged from 20% to 97% in 12 minutes even at extreme temperatures of minus 30 degrees Celsius.
Customers can also opt for the advanced God’s Eye B or DiPilot 300 driver assistance systems, with an additional cost of 12,000 yuan (Rp31 million).
The systems feature LiDAR sensors mounted on the vehicle roof and are supported by 30 cameras and sensors to deliver safety and convenience features, including highway and urban driving assistance and automatic parking.
Inside, BYD has introduced a new cabin design with a floating 15.6-inch infotainment screen serving as the vehicle’s central control hub.
The vehicle also includes premium features such as a mini refrigerator, head-up display (HUD), AI-powered voice assistant, and reclining seats.
Lu Tian, General Manager of BYD’s Dynasty Series, stated that the Yuan Plus has been one of the company’s best-selling models since its launch, with the latest version showing strong sales performance.
The Atto 3 remains one of BYD’s most popular models, despite increasing competition in the compact electric SUV segment from rivals such as the Geely Galaxy E5.
BYD is leveraging its latest battery technology and fast-charging systems to maintain competitiveness in the electric vehicle market.
Several other BYD models using similar technology have reportedly received over 100,000 orders.
The Chinese automaker is now expanding the adoption of its battery and fast-charging technology to global markets, starting with the Denza Z9 GT in Europe, the UK, and other countries.
The Atto 3 model sold outside China is also expected to receive similar updates in the future.
