PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) is currently working on the Jakarta MRT Phase 2A project. This project will connect Bundaran HI Station, which is part of Jakarta MRT Phase 1 (Lebak Bulus-Bundaran HI), to Kota Station. PT MRT Jakarta targets the first segment, Bundaran HI-Monas, to be completed and operational by the end of 2027, while the subsequent segment to Kota is targeted for completion in 2029. The project is also being developed with a transit-oriented development (TOD) concept, which integrates transportation functions with public spaces and community activities around the stations. The rails of Jakarta MRT Phase 1 and Phase 2A are officially connected following the completion of track bed concreting, or the base layer of the rails, in the northbound tunnel from Bundaran HI Station to Thamrin Station. Construction Director of PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) Weni Maulina stated that the next work is the track bed concreting for the southbound tunnel on the Bundaran HI-Thamrin route. “This method is carried out because we are also ready to start installing platform screen doors,” said Weni, quoted from an official statement on Saturday (26/04/2026). The track bed concreting in all tunnels is targeted to be completed by the end of 2026. Meanwhile, the completion of all civil works is targeted for the end of 2027. Thus, the integrating, commissioning, and testing (ICT) phase can be promptly carried out before the Bundaran HI-Monas segment begins operations. In terms of construction progress, several work packages show significant achievements. Contract package CP201 has reached 92.3 percent, CP202 at 64.13 percent, and CP203 at 83.72 percent. Meanwhile, package CP205, which covers the railway system, has reached 42.69 percent and has begun track bed concreting. Overall, the development of Phase 2A construction on the north-south route as of March 2026 has reached 59.19 percent, exceeding the target of 57.52 percent.
