Buyer of Drug-Laced Sweets in Malang Ordered Packages from England Four Times
Bareskrim Polri has revealed the origins of the discovery of Delta-9 Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), a cannabis compound, in the form of gummy sweets found in Malang, East Java.
The Director of Drug Crimes at Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, said that based on the examination of suspect Abram Jetro Endiera, the illicit goods were ordered through a website and shipped from England.
“Interrogation of Abram Jetro Endiera confirmed that the shipment from England to Indonesia was indeed addressed to recipient Sally Hartanto,” he told reporters on Wednesday (26/8).
Eko explained that there were three pouches in total, each containing 10 gummy sweets, with a combined weight of 231 grams and a value reaching Rp639 million.
“The evidence was weighed, documented, sealed and subjected to laboratory examination to confirm the narcotics content that was seized,” he said.
Furthermore, Eko said the suspect had previously ordered cannabis narcotics from England on four occasions. The first order was on 4 March 2026, consisting of one pouch containing 10 gummy sweets; on 31 March 2026, one chocolate sheet containing 30 LSD chocolates.
Then on 21 May 2026, one liquid shaped like a candle, and most recently on 19 August 2026, three packages under the AI brand, each containing 10 sweets. All packages were sent under the recipient name Sally Hartanto to an address in Lowokwaru, Malang, East Java.
“Abram Jetro Endiera stated that all packages suspected of containing THC-type narcotics were for his own consumption,” he explained.
Meanwhile, the Head of Sub-Directorate IV of the Drug Crimes Directorate at Bareskrim Polri, Senior Commissioner Zulkarnain Harahap, said this type of drug is the first to enter Indonesian territory.
“This type and form of drug is the first we have discovered and uncovered in Indonesia,” he said.
