Busworld Southeast Asia 2026 Officially Opened, Showcasing Environmentally Friendly Buses
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The largest international bus exhibition in Southeast Asia, Busworld Southeast Asia 2026, officially opened on Wednesday, 20 May 2026, at JIExpo Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.
Entering its fourth edition, the biennial exhibition serves as a premier stage for advances in technology and innovation in mass transit.
Held in conjunction with the component industry exhibition INAPA 2026 and Transportation & Logistics Indonesia 2026, the event reflects rapid growth in infrastructure and transportation in Indonesia.
‘We hope this exhibition will create real business opportunities for operators, industry players, and the government to collaborate in building an industry, particularly the sustainable mobility industry,’ said Baki Lee during his speech at JIExpo Kemayoran, Wednesday, 20 May 2026.
The scale of this year’s exhibition further underscores Indonesia’s position as a magnet for the road transport industry in the regional area. It is noted that around 15 countries participated, sending exhibitors or delegations of visitors, ranging from Belgium, China, Malaysia, Australia, Colombia, to the United Kingdom.
‘Indonesia and the Southeast Asia region more broadly are undergoing a monumental shift in public transport. We are no longer just talking about moving people from point A to point B, but how to do it in a sustainable, safe and comfortable way,’ said Vincent.
Vincent also added that the Indonesian market shows remarkable resilience with strong commitment to electrification or zero-emission vehicle solutions.
Over the next three days, visitors will be treated to a range of the latest innovations from components, chassis manufacturing, to work from local coachbuilders.
The Busworld Southeast Asia 2026 exhibition will run for three days, from Wednesday 20 May 2026 to Friday 22 May 2026.
In addition to showcasing a lineup of intercity luxury buses and advanced urban electric buses made domestically, the exhibition also serves as a forum for policymakers, operators, and manufacturers to plan the future of mobility in Indonesia.
