Busking activities prohibited on Transjakarta services
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) has prohibited busking, begging, and all forms of vending within its services, including both buses and Mikrotrans.
“Activities such as busking, begging, or selling in any form are strictly prohibited inside bus and Mikrotrans fleets, as well as throughout all Transjakarta station areas,” stated Ayu Wardhani, Head of Public Relations and CSR at Transjakarta, in an official statement in Jakarta on Friday.
This measure was introduced in response to recent reports of buskers operating on Mikrotrans services in the Kampung Melayu area, East Jakarta.
Ayu stated that these reports are being treated with serious concern to ensure that no similar activities occur within the Transjakarta network in the future.
“Transjakarta apologises for the inconvenience experienced by passengers regarding the presence of buskers on Mikrotrans services,” she added.
To ensure all journeys remain safe, comfortable, and orderly, she noted that all passengers, particularly those using Mikrotrans services, must tap in and tap out using Electronic Money Cards (KUE) when boarding and alighting, even though the current fare is Rp0 and the vehicles only stop at designated bus stops.
“If customers encounter or experience any travel discomfort, please note the bus code or vehicle registration number and report it directly through our customer service via Call Centre 1500-102 or Transjakarta’s official social media channels,” Ayu concluded.
